Vox Populi Bring the Mimosa of Beers to the LCBO
Back in March, Montreal’s Microbrasserie Vox Populi broke through the provincial alcohol barrier to bring their Double Fruit Punch IPA to LCBO shelves. Now they’re adding to their Ontario available lineup their juicy, crushable Brunch Kettle Sour, a 3% Berliner Weisse with citrus juice.
In the Québec market, Vox Populi has a number of beer series which start from a base style and have a number of variations, such as their single-hop IPA Démocratique series, a stout series with variations such as Chocolat, Café and Coconut, and their Kettle Sour series including a straight-up Berliner Weisse, Brunch Canneberges (with cranberries), and Brunch (with citrus juice) which is the new version on Ontario shelves.
It looks and smells like straight-up orange juice. Since it has actual fruit juice added, the thin head fades very quickly. It drinks with a light tartness and lots of citrus juiciness. It’s got high carbonation and is bursting with spritzy lemon, orange, and grapefruit. It’s light and refreshing, tart up front, a little sweet, with citric bitterness rounding it out. It’s really more mimosa than beer, and it’s a very nice summer brunch accompaniment.
Find it in the LCBO now!
