Episode #9: Quarantine Edition | Buy Back The Block w/ Beny & Teo of Crowns & Hops | Adjunct Series

We didn't anticipate that this week's guests would be so damn relevant and of the moment. You may be familiar with Beny Ashburn and Teo Hunter of Crowns & Hops from episode #67 a few years back. Since the Dope & Dank days, the two entrepreneurs have come a long way, rebranding, winning grants, and executing successful crowdfunding efforts for their new brewery in Inglewood, CA, all while fighting for equality, inclusion, and diversity.

Right now, the community at large is hurting. Black lives have been oppressed and violently taken by the police for decades, if not centuries, and last week with the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, things hit a boiling point. Teo and Beny broke down how breweries can support their communities, just how their community supported them through the pandemic. Beny cracked a fresh can of Modern Times' Fruitlands, Teo drank a 28-month-old can of BAOS Podcast's Sawdust City collab Get It In Ya!, while Cee and Tiff opened two big boys from LA's Smog City. This is an important one, please listen and stay safe, y'all.
