For the past few years, Tooth and Nail have hosted a Stout Extravaganza for St. Patrick’s Day. COVID restrictions obviously didn’t allow for that this year, so in lieu of the typical festivities, they launched a special canned 4-pack of a spectacular stout lineup which includes their year-round oatmeal stout, their imperial stout with coffee and chocolate, and two never before canned versions including a blend, and finally the 2020 release of their bourbon barrel-aged stout.
Read MoreIt's always an honour to get to chat to the people behind the breweries who shaped your early beer-drinking years, so finally bringing Daniel Addy Jibb, Co-Founder of Microbrasserie Le Castor, on the pod was a milestone for us. Being that they've also known each other a long time, it was only right that we brought back our fave special guest co-host, Noah Forrest of Beerism, Quebec's premier craft beer blog, to help out.
Read MoreCraft beer is forever changing and morphing with the times, and one of the newest trends in the game is functional beer. While this segment took hold in the US quite fast, it's been a slow uptake in Canada - until now. Enter Rally Beer Co. Co-Founders Alan Wood and Spencer Sgro kicked off their new venture mid-pandemic in 2020, and they're truly bringing something different and super unique to Ontario craft beer.
Read MoreThe last time we hung out with JF on the pod was back at their winter bottle release in St. Jerôme in 2017. We'd kicked it at one of our fave events of the year, Journée Péché, every March for the past few winters but we were long overdue to have the guy who created the greatest coffee stout in the country back on the pod for a long chat.
Read MoreAnother brewery who evaded us all these years on the podcast is one of the breweries that got Cee into craft beer over a decade ago. Muskoka Brewery are Ontario legends and they celebrate their 25th anniversary this June, so it was the perfect time to have President Todd Lewin and Head Brewer Gary Jollimore on the pod for a lengthy chat.
Read MoreWayne Gretzky Estates opened their doors in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON in 2017 primarily as a winery and distillery, bearing the name and number of The Great One himself, and have since expanded their operation into brewing. Their No.99 Rye Lager has been on LCBO shelves for some time now, but this spring will see the addition of a couple of new offerings including a Pilsner and an IPA.
Read MoreLast summer, Cee and Tiffany headed out east to Quebec City to visit breweries and vlog it up. One place they weren't able to get to was La Souche, so obviously they'll be there next visit but the next best thing was to have the team on the podcast. La Souche are known for their fire sour beers, so we were stoked to have the boys on and get into some brews.
Read MoreIf you're a longtime BAOS listener, you'll know that we really stay true to the "And Other Shit" in our name, but to be honest, we haven't really dabbled much outside of beer in the past year or so. It was time to fix that. We heard about Doctor Nick's Amazing Man Stuff back in January and Cee has been using their beard products daily since, so it was great to have Co-Founder Nick Phelps on the pod for a chat.
Read MoreOne of the most unique concepts that we've ever seen in craft beer comes courtesy of Mike Laba and Chris Goddard, the founders of Craft Brand Co., based out of Toronto, ON. What began as a craft beer import agency slowly morphed into a beast unto its own, securing sought-after international contracts with breweries like Omnipollo (Sweden), Mikkeller (Denmark) and Lervig (Norway) to brew onsite in Toronto for the Canadian market.
Read MoreWe've been on a bit of a run lately with bringing back past guests who are well overdue for a visit, so this week we're hanging with Founder Stéphane Dubois and Head Brewer Benoit Brame of Toronto's Bandit Brewery. We last kicked it with Bandit back in the summer of 2018, and a clearly lot has changed with the only brewery in Roncesvalles.

Read MoreJust like 2017, we're delivering back-to-back Ottawa episodes to give the long-time listeners a little touch of nostalgia. Tooth & Nail, while only just over 5 years old, are regularly mentioned in the same breath with some of the breweries in Canada. Their Vim & Vigor Pilsner is highly regarded universally as one of the best examples we have in our fine land, and their owner and founder Matt Tweedy joined us for another fantastic chat.
